SWAT TEAM Witnessing - 9/24/05

Street Witnessing And Training
Taking Evangelism Across Missouri

Today we drove to Joplin, Missouri to visit with our friends and fellow GNN Seed Sower, Teresa Stevens. There was a Bluegrass Music and Crafts Fall Festival at Center Creek Park in Carl Junction, Missouri (close by Joplin). Teresa wanted to attend and pass out gospel tracts and witness. We went to participate and do just what our witnessing team name, S.W.A.T. T.E.A.M. stands for, "Taking Evangelism Across Missouri", and not just in Branson, Missouri.

All of us that went out were: Teresa and Ken Stevens, their daughter, Pam and son-in-law, Joe (Joe was our camera man that videotaped some of our conversations with people) and their baby, me, Leann and our daughter, Alexis.
Here is a pic of all of right before we headed off to witness at the Bluegrass Festival:

Here is a pic of Teresa talking with Sherry, who has seen a "Way of the Master" episode, and thinks it's a great way to witness to someone without being offensive.

I didn't get this lady's name, but she said that she was a Christian. When I asked her if I can role-play with her to show her how we witness to someone who is not saved, she got really uneasy and didn't want to talk any longer (after I started going through the Law with her).
The kids really liked the Giant $100 bill gospel tracts. I pray that they read them, as well as let their parents read them.
We pass out tracts to just about everyone we see. People also just come up to use and ask for them. Many times, they ask if they can have additional tracts to give to their friend, family or kids. That's great!!
Teresa gave me a few Hell's Best Kept Secret CD's to pass out. I talked to Ann, another lady named Patty and gave them both a "HBKS CD". They said they were both Christians and interested in this Way of the Master method of evangelism. I pray that they would listen to it and then get in contact with Teresa.
I had some other conversations with people. Just about everyone I come into contact says they are a Christian. We go though the role-play and I show them what we say to "non-Christians". This way, they hear the law and grace (the gospel) even though they say they are Christians. We need to remember that not everyone who says they are a Christian is really a Christian.
We had a great time. It was very encouraging. We thank God for Teresa and Ken. They fed us really well also!! Praise God for what He is doing in Joplin with Teresa and Ken.
