Street Witnessing - Power and Light District - KC MO

I am working on redoing my Repent and Turn Ministries website (RepentAndTurn.com), so in the interim I will post my witnessing adventures here on my old blog.

Tonight was the first night that I led the street witnessing outreach for the Kansas City Evangelists’ Fellowship (KCEF). We went to the Power and Light District in Kansas City, Missouri. Mike came out to witness, as well as Ruben, and Marcos and his family.

The Kansas City Live area had a paid concert, so there was a good amount of people walking around. There was apparently a “Disney on Ice” show, which caused more adults and children to be walking around, and even dressed up as the characters.

Mike and I found a corner where people were crossing the street, so they had to walk by us. We began passing out gospel tracts. So many people were in a rush. Not many wanted to stop and talk with us.  Thanks to Mike for taking the pictures tonight!

Even though most people were in too big of a rush to stop and talk, some of them would take a gospel tract. I like passing out gospel tracts. They will take one and then read it later. When they do, the Holy Spirit can use the gospel message to convict their heart. I’ve heard of many people getting saved from reading a gospel tract.

Mike was passing out tracts to those who would take them.  He had a gospel tract that asked them to take a 2-question test to see if they were good enough to go to heaven.

After Ruben, Marcos and his family arrived, they began walking around, passing out gospel tracts and having conversations when they were able.  One guy told Marcos he believes in Jesus, but Jesus doesn't like him because he does bad things.  Marcos talked to him and his heart appeared to soften some.

I passed out a million dollar bill gospel tract to a group of guys, and one of the guys took his and walked up to a car at the stop light and gave his to a young lady in the car.  Maybe God wanted her to have the gospel message, too.  ;-)

As Christians, we need to be obedient to the Word of God. In Mark 16:15, “ And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Jesus came into this world for a primary reason, and this is stated in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

It is up to us, as Christians, to do God’s will - to seek and save the lost. Satan tries to make us so busy and tell us that we don’t have time to live for him and share the gospel. It's a lie. Just make yourself available to Him. Start talking to someone about spiritual things and tell them about Jesus when God opens the door. God wants to use you.
